Women, motherhood and drugs Forum
Pregnancy and parenthood are significant milestones which evoke strong emotions. Illicit drug use adds further stresses to an already challenging situation – giving rise to complex issues and experiences.
Lack of accurate information, fear of discrimination and the involvement of authorities exacerbate the issues and experiences of expectant parents who are using illicit drugs.
Recent Anex research has shown that while pregnancy information is widely available, women who are using illicit drugs have special needs which may not be adequately met by the existing service system.
Anex invites you to a free one-day forum to improve knowledge and awareness of the issues and challenges relating to parenthood, pregnancy and illicit drug use.
